One Bridgeland Green in Cypress, Texas, is a 58,000 sf. boutique timber framed office building, part of the Bridgeland mixed-use development by Howard Hughes. Designed by Lake | Flato and Kirksey Architecture in a modern agrarian architectural style, the project is defined by its gabled roof topped with a linear cupola and features large timber framed balconies at each floor level.

The superstructure is comprised of a glulam frame supporting DLT decking, alongside a fully-CLT lateral system. DLT was chosen by the design team as the most efficient system for floor/roof slabs. The material complements the cross-laminated timber (CLT) shear walls used for the lateral system, which are designed to resist the significant wind loads common in the Gulf Coast region.

The project is designed to achieve LEED Gold and Fitwell certification and its users will benefit from the biophilic nature of mass timber construction. It is a first-of-its kind office building in the Houston area, setting the standard for a more sustainable future.
