qathet Northside Community Recreation Centre

The qathet Northside Community Recreation Centre is a new cultural and social hub for Lund, bringing recreation, performance and community gathering beneath an expressive timber roof.

A welcoming lobby opens into a multipurpose gymnasium with a performance stage and commercial kitchen. Carved wood columns, a community-built light-clay wall and stained glass connect the building to the people and landscape of the qathet region.

Glulam beams support an exposed DLT ceiling over the main interior spaces. Outside, suspended DLT panels form the soffit of a covered gathering area. DowelLam supplied approximately 4,293 square feet of panels for these interior and exterior applications.
