This two-storey building is in a prominent location alongside the East side of Lake Washington in Kirkland. It is one of the largest mass timber office buildings constructed in the Seattle area, using DLT floor and roof panels supported by a Douglas Fir Glulam post and beam frame. The lateral load resisting system for the building is a concrete core which was completed prior to commencement of the mass timber install. The prefabricated DLT panels shortens construction duration with an estimated mass timber installation duration of six weeks or less. The use of DLT reduces the project’s embodied carbon by replacing steel or concrete.
