Lake Trail Community School

Lake Trail Community School transforms a 1950s middle school into a daylight-filled learning environment organized around a generous social stair and flexible teaching studios.

What began as a seismic upgrade evolved into a partial replacement that retains the existing gym and library while creating new spaces for science, art, music, technology, drama and Indigenous Education. Sliding glazed partitions support both focused instruction and larger collaborative activities.

DowelLam supplied the DLT floor and roof panels for the new work. The shallow mass-timber system helps create open, adaptable interiors while leaving natural wood visible throughout the central learning and gathering spaces.
