Faro's shared public works and firehall brings essential municipal services together in a durable northern facility designed for the Yukon climate.
The 1,229-square-metre building includes seven vehicle bays, staff offices, shared meeting rooms, parts and tool storage, decontamination areas and a morgue. Consolidating these functions replaces undersized facilities and gives the town a flexible base for emergency and public-works operations.
DowelLam supplied approximately 3,300 square feet of 2x8 Douglas Fir acoustic DLT panels. The exposed timber roof introduces warmth and sound absorption to the civic facility while meeting the demands of a robust working environment.
