The College of New Caledonia's Power Engineering Expansion adds hands-on teaching space for welding, computer simulation and industrial boiler training at its Quesnel campus.
The 8,800-square-foot addition extends an earlier technical education building while giving each part of the program a clear architectural identity. Durable industrial materials suit the demands of the teaching shops, and exposed timber brings warmth to the computer laboratory.
DowelLam supplied the DLT roof and wall panels for the expansion. In the computer lab, the heavy timber panels remain exposed as part of the finished interior, demonstrating how a prefabricated structural system can support an economical and flexible learning environment.
